Take the water and sugar mixture and pour it over the grout that needs removed. If you struggle to keep your tiles clean chances are there s a thin layer of grout left over from when they were laid. Remove grout haze with water and cheesecloth. To clean grout haze off your tiles dip a large tile sponge in a bucket of water wring it out and use it to scrub your tiles in a single direction.

Then using some fine wire wool rub gently over the grout which will begin to dissolve and rub off at the same time. Once the tile is clean and has no more hardened grout wipe over with a damp cloth and leave to dry. Make sure to apply enough water that it can soak into the grout for an hour or two before you try to work any of the grout off. For stubborn grout haze mop the floor with a mixture of 1 cup of white vinegar and 1 quart of warm water.

In a bucket mix a gallon of hot water with a cup of granulated sugar mixing the two until the sugar dissolves in the water. Then let the tiles dry completely before sealing the floor. Cleaning grout off tile with vinegar is safe and efficient for ceramic and porcelain tile installations and grout but acid cleaners should never be used on porous or stone tiles which includes vinegar and rubbing alcohol. The basic method for hardened grout removal use warm water and wipe it over the surface of the tiles with a sponge.
